YOUNGSTERS from Pennar Community School are getting arty tonight, October 19, with a special performance at the school called The Boy Who Bit Picasso.

The Untied Artists show, inspired by a book by Antony Penrose, is being organised by a group of young people from Pennar School who have been specially chosen to work with the Arts Council of Wales as part of their Night Out Young Promoters scheme.

The show, which introduces one of the 20th Century’s most influential artists through the eyes of a young boy, is on for one night only at Pennar Community School itself, where the hall will be transformed into a theatre for the night.

Doors open at 5.30pm and the show starts at 6pm. Refreshments and a raffle will also be available.

The group has put pride into organising the show by setting the ticket prices and start time, inviting VIPs, writing a press release and advertising it through social media.

The young promoters will also be in charge of selling tickets, showing people to their seats and making speeches.

The Boy Who Bit Picasso is a beautiful show which is suitable for ages four and up, and ticket prices have been set at the very reasonable £4 for adults and £2 for children.

You can buy tickets by calling the school on 01646 684402 or on the door at the event.

“It is a great show for all the family. Very interesting. Children will go out with interesting facts in their brains. It is for sure that everyone will enjoy it,” say Millie, Teahna and Jasper of Year 6.

The youngsters are determined that the show will be a success and a celebration of their hard work and team effort.
