AT A RECENT meeting of the Pembroke Rotary Club, President Emyr Williams congratulated Rtn Dennis Tidswell for being a member of the club for 60 years.
He joined on October 4, 1956, only some three years after the club was formed.
During his years as a Rotarian he was involved in many activities and held numerous offices.
He was appointed club president in 1971/72 and later on he was presented with the Paul Harris fellowship - the highest accolade bestowed on a Rotarian for services to the Rotary movement.
Dennis can best be described as a 'character' and this was highlighted in his prominence as a member of the Rotary Variety Shows during the 1980/1990s.
He would always have the audience in fits of laughter and similarly he had the same effect on his co-performers.
Over the years he has been involved in many active functions to raise funds for the club. Being a very keen cyclist he organised many successful cycle runs around South Pembs.
Every member would endorse the fact that it is a pleasure and privilege to have Dennis as a member of the club and wish him many more happy years as a Rotarian.
