PEMBROKE and Pembroke Dock Lions presented a cheque for £1,250 to the 1st Pembroke Haven Scout Group last Wednesday evening in appreciation of the group’s support during the annual Santa and Sleigh run.
The presentation was made at Scout Headquarters, Treowen Road, Pennar.
The Lions sleigh, ably supported by the 1st Pembroke Scout Group and family members, took to the streets of Pembroke and Pembroke Dock from December 13 right through to Christmas Eve, other than a rest day on December 18, raising some £4,000 for good causes.
Lions President Peter Deponeo said: “They volunteered two weeks of their time in all weathers to help our collection.
“In return for them helping us we helped them.
“We wanted to help them towards their annual camp and help pay the insurance fees; it’s £50 a Scout to be registered.”
