PEMBROKE’S Golden Grove School-Ysgol Gelli Aur was the setting for an important film premiere recently.

Stepping on to the Red Carpet were the cast and crew of the thriller film The Time Machine.

Shot on location in the grounds of Golden Grove School by pupils and parents, this was the second such film to be made in conjunction with The JC Theatre Company.

Head Teacher Andy Williams said: “The pupils from Class 4/5KJ have done a fabulous job and can be very proud of their achievements. This would not have happened without the fantastic help from Jonny and Chloe together with Miss Littler and Mrs Jones.”

Over the past weeks the school has been following the progress of Marilla as she progressed through Eisteddfodau.

Her skills in music, poetry and singing have been truly inspirational. She again performed at the Pembrokeshire Eisteddfod, her efforts were highly regarded. The school looks forward to following the future progress of Marilla and wishes her all the very best for the future.

At the recent Inter-District Swimming Gala the Pembrokeshire team had a number of Golden Grove School -Ysgol Gelli Aur pupils in its ranks. They and the other team members swam very well and were the winners of the gala.

Earlier this term, staff and pupils took part in the Golden Grove School Mud Run for Red Nose Day.

An obstacle course was set around the school grounds with leaps, cargo nets and of course the obligatory wet tarpaulin to negotiate. With help from the local fire station, who ensured that the grounds were good and wet in the right places, pupils, parents and staff had a great time, and in the process raising money for Red Nose day. Several fund raising events were held in the school during the day, pupils dressed in red, held in class activities and joined in the fun. The events raised £1,045.
