ANGLE RNLI’s all-weather lifeboat was alerted on Tuesday afternoon, June 6, to investigate reports of a yacht aground off Hobbs Point, Pembroke Dock.

The Tamar class lifeboat Mark Mason was launched at 1.49pm and reached the scene in 19 minutes.

As the lifeboat approached the area, the Water Ranger reported that the yacht had parted her moorings, a line had been attached and the yacht pulled into deeper water.

Due to the weather conditions at the scene, the lifeboat was asked to assist with securing the yacht alongside a pontoon at Dale Sailing, Neyland.

With the yacht safe, the lifeboat was released to return to her station, where she was rehoused at 3.21pm.

The Mark Mason had also been launched on Sunday, June 4, to reports of a 12 metre fishing vessel, which fouled her propeller off Freshwater West.

The Tamar class lifeboat Mark Mason was launched, at the request of the UK Coastguard, at 4.01pm. Another fishing vessel was assisting until the arrival of the lifeboat.

The lifeboat rendezvoused with both vessels off Sheep Island, at the entrance to the Milford Haven Waterway. The tow was transferred and the vessel, which had two crew members on board, was taken to her berth at Neyland.

Once the fishing vessel was secured alongside, the lifeboat was released to return to her station, where she was rehoused at 6.18pm.
