AN internationally-renowned violinist has been passing on his tips for the top to some of Pembrokeshire’s finest young musicians.
Romanian virtuoso Horia Vacarescu guided a group of young violinists at a masterclass held at Sir Thomas Picton School recently.
He was visiting the area as part of the Tenby Arts Festival.
The masterclass was arranged by Pembrokeshire Music Service’s Gareth Sanders-Swales with Mr Vacarescu offering insights in addition to what the youngsters receives from their tutors
It’s the second time Mr Vacarescu has offered his expertise to the county’s youth.
“It was a pleasure to be back and hear the young violinists of Pembrokeshire again,” he said.
“They are talented children with a desire to learn, which makes it a rewarding experience for any teacher.
“I hope this was a useful experience for them and I wish them best of luck in their future!”
Gareth Saunders Swales had no doubt the students benefited from the experience.
“Once again, Mr Vacarescu has provided his insight and expertise to the pupils of Pembrokeshire Music Service, and we are incredibly grateful that he could give of his time to the benefit of the young violinists of our county.
“The pupils thoroughly enjoyed, and learned much from their experience.”
