THERE was a buzz of excitement at Ysgol Ger y Llan recently when Fishguard and District Soroptimists gave local primary school children a five hour international challenge.
Pupils from Ger y Llan, Goodwick, Glannau Gwaun, Holy Name, Croesgoch, Puncheston and Wolfscastle schools had to work together to produce a series of fact-filled posters on different countries from around the world.
The groups were challenged to research countries where would-be-entrepreneurs are being supported by financial loans made by Fishguard and District Soroptimist Club through ‘Lend With Care.'
The charity links deprived people in developing countries wanting to start small business enterprises with groups willing to make them loans.
By the end of the day, the youngsters had produced a series of colourful and informative posters.
They will be on display from March 3 at Fishguard Town Hall as part of the Soroptimists’ exhibition to mark International Women’s Day on March 7.
The display will be open for the whole of March during library opening hours.
