A CHARITY shop opened at a new location in Fishguard earlier this week.

Sartori Stores now occupies a much bigger premises at 11-13 West Street, selling quality donated items for men, women and children, as well as bric a brac and furniture.

It will raise money for the Paul Sartori Foundation - Pembrokeshire’s only ‘Hospice at Home’ care service.

Customers and volunteers were joined by Preseli Pembrokeshire AM Paul Davies, the Mayor of Fishguard and Goodwick, Councillor Richard Grosvenor on Monday morning to celebrate the re-opening of the shop.

Speaking at the event, Mr Davies said it was a privilege to be asked to reopen the Paul Sartori shop.

“This shop is a wonderful asset to the local community – and I very much hope the people of Fishguard support this local store for years to come. The role of charity shops on the Welsh high street is important for our society and also for our local economy. It is essential that we recognise the valuable contribution charity shops make to the organisations they represent and the essential services that they help to provide. The money raised at this store will help to provide a range of services that the Foundation delivers, such palliative care, home nursing support and counselling services.”

He added, “It’s also important to remember that the Paul Sartori shops are managed and run by volunteers, who give up their time and effort to support the Foundation. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank those volunteers, who really are the backbone of this Foundation, who help to ensure that the Paul Sartori Foundation goes from strength to strength."

Sartori Store will be open Monday to Saturday, from 10am to 4pm.
