MEMBERS of Fishguard and District Round Table accepted an invitation to attend a rehearsal night of Goodwick Brass Band on Monday, March 3.
It was so they could hear the band’s newest players try out their instruments, which were kindly donated by the Round Table.
The band has a selection of brass instruments which they lend to young members so that they can find the one that suits them best.
The band’s chairman Tony Evans thanked the Round Table for their donation and continued support.
Dylan Thomas, chairman of the Round Table said they were delighted to support the growing success of Goodwick Brass Band through its commitment to the youths that take part, and who in turn will become the new generation of senior band members.
“It is always nice to see the good work the brass band is doing with the younger members of the community,” he said.
Goodwick Brass Band plays at a number of community events throughout the year as well as representing the local area at national and international championships. Membership of the brass band has risen to more than 70 members with an increasing amount of young musicians joining.
