A new dial-a-ride service for the Fishguard area was launched on Friday (May 9).

The Fishguard Friday Flyer will run from 9am to 4.30pm every Friday (except bank holidays) and is available for anyone who needs transport in the Fishguard, Dinas, Trecwn, Letterston, Mathry and Strumble Head areas. The service is free to holders of concessionary passes.

“It’s available to anyone needing transport for any reason,” said Emma Lewis Green Dragon Bus Co-ordinator.

“We’re hoping people will use it to get the shopping, get to appointments and meetings and also for some of the fun things in life. Anyone of any age can use the bus.”

The service has benefited from European RDP funding and was set up with help from PACTO and the Pembrokeshire County Council European team.

The Friday Flyer is in addition to the Fishguard and Goodwick Town Rider services, which run every Thursday and Saturday. Anyone in need of transport can use any of them by ringing 0845 686 0242 by mid-day the day before they want to travel.
