AT the beginning of May, Fishguard and Goodwick Twinning Association hosted a very successful visit by their partners fromLoctudy in Brittany.

The visit included a number of local excursions to places of interest including St Davids, Pembroke and Narberth as well as areas along the north Pembrokeshire coast.

On the Saturday morning a ‘Taste of Brittany’ stall was arranged in the Farmers’ Market at Fishguard Town Hall. This included tasting freshly made crepes along with chocolates, cakes and other Breton delicacies. There was also an interesting display of Breton craft ware.

The market was followed by a buffet reception arranged by the Fishguard Town Council when representatives from both councils exchanged gifts.

In the evening a meal was enjoyed by both hosts and visitors at the Maenclochog Community Hall where the Maenclochog choir entertained everyone and the Dhoogie Band ensured that everybody danced the night away.

Next year will be the 20th anniversary of the twinning between the two towns and preparations are already underway to celebrate this milestone.
