A CHALLENGE could be made to a decision not to extend the hours of street lighting in Goodwick.
Last December a call for an extra hour of street lighting following the arrival of the night ferry was voted out by cabinet.
In his notice of motion, County Councillor Gwilym Price stated that the ferry terminal is “an extremely important entry point into Wales and the UK” and the people arriving by ferry “are confronted by complete darkness once they leave the port area”.
Speaking in town council last week, Cllr Price said: “Cllr Hugh George said it would cost £16,000 to put the lights back on, but we’ve since found out that the figure was not correct.
“There is going to be a challenge and we need to establish key areas for where the street lights should be left on.”
Cllr Price added: “If we can get it down to 25-30 lights I think we can get it through cabinet.”
