A GRAND charity auction was held in the Farmer’s Arms in Mathry on Saturday, July 12 to raise much needed funds for Pembrokeshire Action to Combat Hardship.

It was organised by Rachel Morgan of Letterston, who is also running a grand raffle for PATCH from her office at the Gwaun Garage.

At the auction, donated items such as a VIP pass to the Wickedly Welsh Chocolate Factory, a day trip on a luxury yacht, a canvas painting by Newport artist Jayne Hughes, an autographed rugby shirt and various gift and meal vouchers were sold to the highest bidders.

A total of £1281.00 was raised on the night – just over the amount that was spent on food for the PATCH bases across Pembrokeshire last month.

Rachel’s raffle draw will take place at 5.30pm on Friday, July 25 at the Gwaun Garage.

Among the top prizes are: a hot tub for the weekend, a Master Chef signed apron, two paintings by Dorian Spencer Davies, signed photos from Ant and Dec, the Stereophonics, The Hairy Bikers and Scarlets, Folly Farm, Manor Park and County Show tickets.

Rachel said: “I first heard of PATCH during its Christmas toy appeal. The thought of families going without basics such as food is a horrible thought.

“PATCH does such good work in the community and I’m glad to be part of their team.”

PATCH coordinator Tracy Olin said: “We are over the moon and think Rachel is amazing.

“All of her hard work has paid off. Thank you to Rachel and the super heroes who have donated for both her auction and the raffle.

“Rachel has managed to get the most amazing donations, not just from the fabulous people in Pembrokeshire but even further afield and I am so grateful.”
