WOLFSCASTLE residents did themselves proud last week when the judge for Wales in Bloom inspected the village.
John Woods was given a tour by the Rev Geoffrey Eynon on Thursday afternoon (July 17).
He was marking the village on its initial impression, the condition of entrances, floral displays, nature conservation, the design and quality of permanent and seasonal planting and the overall effort.
Speaking to the Western Telegraph afterwards, he said: “The individual gardens are always good here and the school has always made a significant contribution to the entry.
At the end of the day we want to see community participation in delivering the project, from the youngest to the oldest. I know from experience that community participation is always a strong element here."
Geoffrey added: “We’ve very fortunate again this year that everyone has pulled together and worked extremely hard to make sure everything is prim and proper for the judging day.”
