FISHGUARD and Goodwick have another event to add to its already packed music calendar.

Following on from the huge success of The Sound of Youth earlier this year, a similar event has been organised for Saturday, September 13.

Around 80 youngsters gathered at Ffwrn on May 30 and were treated to a range of music and dance.

The three live act to take to the stage were Lucy Campbell, Hooked and Beware the Tortoise, followed by DJ Connor Sinnott, DJ Whizdem and DJ One-Z.

The event, sponsored by Pembrokeshire County Council's Youth Service and Alcohol Concern's Communities Together project, was deliberately alcohol free and around 200 mocktails (non alcoholic cocktails) were served.

Communities Together Project Manager, Marc Mordey, said: “A key aim of the first event was to encourage young people to join and/or become more aware of the Youth Town Council which has recently been set up. Five young people signed up during the evening and we are looking for more."

Organisers of the September event are on the lookout for three DJs and two bands to play a 45 minute set each.

Marc said: “Our aim is to encourage young musicians and DJs - we are not able to pay but this is a great opportunity to showcase your talents.”
