THEATR Gwaun was alive with the sound of music on Thursday, October 30.

Songs From The Musicals was performed to a sell out crowd as part of the fourth annual Fishguard Autumn Festival programme.

Those who were able to get tickets enjoyed songs from musicals such as Wizard of Oz, Les Misérables, Oliver!, Mary Poppins, Jesus Christ Superstar and Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The songs were performed by a group of talented children, young people and adults from the local area, who had been practicing every week since May. The group received not one, but two standing ovations.

The Rev Terry Broadhurst, who organised the evening with Amanda Lawrence, said: “Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening and could not praise the singers enough with many saying that the event should have been performed on a second night.

“We could not be more proud of all the children, young people and adults who sang in Songs From The Musicals.

"Thank you to each of them for their fantastic commitment. It was a spectacular evening and we are delighted that it was not only a wonderful success, but everyone enjoyed it so much with many asking for more in the future.”

The Rev Broadhurst added: “If Songs From The Musicals returns, I would suggest get your tickets early!”
