AN APPLICATION to build a 55kw wind turbine on land south of Pen-Parc, Wolfscastle, has been turned down, on the grounds it would have a negative impact on the local landscape.
Among objectors to the application, which was assessed by members of the county council’s planning committee on Tuesday (December 16), was authority chairman Cllr Tom Richards.
Cllr Richards said the turbine, which would measure 46.3 metres to blade tip, would be a distraction for drivers.
Objector Mike Smith also addressed members, saying that “if the proposal goes ahead this monster will link the chains on the belt of wind turbines” in the area.
Councillors voted unanimously against the proposals.
