A LARGE crowd and one very festive poodle gathered in Wolfscastle on Monday night (December 22) for the ever popular open air nativity.

People travelled from near and far to witness the 10th re-enactment of the greatest story ever told by the adults of the church.

The narrator, the Rev Geoffrey Eynon said: “As we travel through the village we will see Bramble the donkey, possibly a few real sheep, some shepherds, wise men, angels and one very angry man.”

Along the journey the crowd sung carols accompanied by Goodwick Brass Band. It ended in a stable where everyone gathered to see the baby Jesus, who for the first time was played by a little girl – four month old Lara May Morgan from Wolfscastle.

The Rev Eynon added: “Thank you all for supporting us in Wolfscastle. It’s been a beautiful evening and as you all enjoyed it, we will be back next year again.

"Thank you to Alwyn George for allowing us to use his stable, the lighting technicians, Goodwick Brass Ensemble who created a wonderful atmosphere, Bramble the donkey, Lara’s parents and the cast, who’ve been practising for weeks!"

Mulled wine and mince pies were served in the vestry afterwards and a bucket collection was made for a local charity.
