AN EVENING of mocktails, models and make-up has raised more than £650 towards the cost of a new children’s play area for Withybush Hospital.

On Saturday, October 26, Jacquelyn Morrell, owner of online fashion store Boobalooboutique.com, hosted a Charity Fashion Show at the Picton Centre, Haverfordwest.

The money raised will be going towards modernising the children’s play area at Withybush hospital.

The equipment now needs updating, to make sure it is safe to use, and once completed will also include provisions for children with disabilities too.

While local models Bex Morgan, Helen John, Holly Williams, Katy Griffiths, Kimberely Waller and Michelle Charles showed off a range of Boobaloo Boutique styles in a two-part fashion show, guests enjoyed canapés and mocktails.

“They all played the part extremely well and were truly enjoying the experience,” said Jacquelyn.

There were also beauty demonstrations from Andrew Price and Ace Faces, plus a range of stalls.

The evening concluded with a giveaway of more than 50 fabulous prizes, generously donated by local people and businesses.

Jacquelyn said: “I am very proud of everyone who supported this event and would like to thank the local businesses who donated, the models and volunteers.

“A big thank you to Sharon Todd who was my sidekick in all the preparations and of course the event sponsors – Ace Faces, Andrew Price Hair Salon, Celtic Flowers, Eddies, Meadow Carpets, Moogle Photography, The Glam Boutique and Vogue Beauty Clinic.”

Jacquelyn said the event was such a success she plans on organising another catwalk show in future.

Sandra Jones, senior play specialist at Withybush Hospital, said: “I’m overwhelmed with the amount raise, and we’re that much closer to getting the play area up and running.

“It’s just the boost we need.”
