MEMBERS of Haverfordwest Male Voice Choir have enjoyed a busy season of song this spring, which kicked off on March 1.
Performing alongside Solva Primary school, the St David’s Day concert helped raise funds towards the organ restoration in St Katherine's Church, in Milford Haven.
In April, the choir travelled to Neath for a combined practice in readiness for their concert in the Albert Hall, London next year.
To finish off the month, a concert at Sir Thomas Picton School saw the choir share the stage with Goodwick Brass Band, and the audience was also treated to a tremendous solo performance from Catherine Raymond.
Under the baton of Richard Stephens the choir is flourishing and improving, and a new ‘patron scheme’ is already proving popular.
The 100 club was drawn and the winners for this quarter were: 1st £50 Mr Jim Harries, Mathry; 2nd £40 Mrs Joyce Davies, Clarbeston Road; 3rd £30 Mr. Neville Evans, Little Newcastle.
As always the choir is always looking for new members and anyone wanting to join can come along to any practice at 8pm every Monday evening, at St Marys Church Hall, near Haverfordwest Castle.
This Friday, May 9, the choir performs at Prendergast Junior School at 7.30pm. And on Saturday, May 31, twinning visitors from Oberkirch, Germany, will also get to see the choir perform at a concert at Sir Thomas Picton School.
