A special concert in aid of the Royal British Legion will take place at St Jerome’s Church Llangwm at the end of the month.

Goodwick Brass Band will be playing a special repertoire of music from the Second World War and behind the band will be a large screen showing images cut in synchronisation to the music.

“We tried something very simple two years ago,” said concert organiser Pam Hunt.

“Then buoyed up by that success, we became more ambitious last year; and this year we have been more ambitious again. We live in a world of sound and vision through our TVs, our computers, smart phones and tablets.

“So bringing a significant additional value to a music performance by a band of the calibre of Goodwick Brass makes what is a concert like so many others into something that people won’t forget. It is, if you like, Llangwm’s own Festival of Remembrance.”

There will be a special guest appearance at the concert - Ted Owens, one of Pembrokeshire’s last surviving Normandy veterans will be taking part. The concert will also be welcoming members of the Haverfordwest branch of the Royal British Legion.

Tickets are on sale now - £7 for adults and £3.50 for children. They can be obtained from Llangwm village shop. Alternatively, tickets can be reserved by calling Pam Hunt on 01437 899 966 or by emailing her pamela-hunt@btconnect.com .
