HAVERFORDWEST’S first ever festive Fun Run will hit the county town’s streets this Sunday (December 7).

Organised by Haverfordwest Ladies Circle, the event is a great opportunity to burn off some calories while raising money for local good causes.

“We fundraise throughout the year, and we’ve been thinking about a Christmas event for a while,” said Circle chairwoman Claire Davies. “We decided a festive fancy dress Fun Run would be a great event all the family could take part in. All the money raised will go to local charities for disabled children.”

Registration for the Fun Run is at Castle Square from 10am. The run will start at 11am. Entry is £5 per person or £15 for a family of four. Under -12s will need to be accompanied by an adult.

“Come along and wear anything festive,” said Claire. “You can run, jog or walk the course. Everyone who enters will have the chance of winning a hamper full of goodies, and everyone who finishes will get a medal. We’re hoping lots of people will turn up, and help make the Fun Run a great success!”

Entrants will be able to run, jog or walk the approximately three mile long course around the town.

The event is sponsored by the Wolfscastle Country Hotel, which is providing the hamper and will be selling mince pies at the finish line to boost charity donations.
