HAVERFORDWEST’S first ever festive Fun Run attracted a small but enthusiastic bunch of entrants.
The event – which took place on Sunday – was organised by the Haverfordwest Ladies Circle in a bid to stake a claim for the county town on the Christmas events circuit.
“We were hoping for more entrants, but every new venture starts small and builds up over time,” said Circle chair Claire Davies. “I’m sure next year there will be a bigger turn out.”
All profits raised by the Fun Run will go to local charities for disabled children, including SNAP.
Alison Tudor and Leeann Morgan were first to cross the finish line, winning a hamper of goodies provided by the Wolfscastle Country Hotel.
“I saw a story about the Fun Run in the Western Telegraph and thought I’d join in,” said keen runner Alison. “It’s for a good cause. My daughter went to SNAP and I like to support their work.”
