A SEVEN-year-old muggle from Haverfordwest enjoyed a magical visit to the Harry Potter Studios, courtesy of the UK’s leading wish granting charity for youngsters with serious and terminal illnesses.

Toby Williams was diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma, a rare cancer of the lymphatic system, in May 2014.

While undergoing chemotherapy, he spent five months living in the Children’s Hospital for Wales and was left blind after the disease damaged his optic nerves.

Toby enjoys listening to audio books, and his favourites are the Harry Potter stories. So when he was referred to the Starlight Children’s Foundation to have a wish granted, he knew exactly what he wanted to do – visit Harry Potter World at Warner Bros. Studios in London, with his mum, Melinda, step-dad, Martin, and brothers Josh and Max.

“Toby has dealt really well with losing his sight,” said Melinda. “He’s always full of life and determined to join in with whatever his brothers are doing.”

The family were treated to a night in an hotel before being taken on a tour at the famous attraction, where Toby was allowed to touch all of the props and the three boys were presented with personalised goody bags.

“The goody bags were great, my Harry Potter wand was my favourite and I loved trying the Bertie Botts Every Flavoured Beans,” said a delighted Toby.

Melinda said: “The boys couldn’t stop talking about their Harry Potter experience and who was going to do a ‘show and tell’ presentation to their class first! We’re so grateful to Starlight for giving us this magical memory.”
