THE carnival season continues this weekend as Herbrandston gets ready to celebrate in the sun, and raise money for a very worthy local cause.

This year's carnival will be held on Saturday, August 2, and will see the parade being led by the ever- popular Milford Haven Town Band.

Entrants will assemble by the old school at 2pm, and then parade through the village.

The procession will continue to the village green, where the fun continues with games, a range of stalls, refreshments and judo demonstrations.

The main annual fundraising event for St Mary’s Church, the carnival is a perennial favourite with locals old and young, and draws in visitors from around the county.

In the evening there is a carnival disco and barbecue at the sports field commencing at 6pm.

Younger carnival visitors can enjoy a bouncy castle later, and there will also be a licensed bar later on.

Entry is free for children and £3 for adults, which includes the first drink free.

This event has been jointly organised by the Sports Association and Milford Haven Hockey Club.
