MORE than 800 passengers will sail into Milford Haven this Sunday (August 17) on board the cruise ship Ocean Princess.

The vessel, which is operated by Princess Cruise Line, is due to arrive from Dublin at 7.30am and will be in port until 4pm, before departing for St Helier.

Several quayside events have been arranged to welcome the passengers ashore, including local dance group FF Dancers, a birds of prey display and a classic car display.

Ocean Princess will return to the Milford Haven Waterway for its third visit of the month on August 21, as well as returning in 2015.

During 2013 more than 3,000 passengers visited Pembrokeshire from seven cruise vessels, with each passenger spending £80 on average in the local community and each crew member spending £55 in the area.

A spokesman for the Port of Milford Haven said: “The Port of Milford Haven is committed to promoting Pembrokeshire as a cruise destination, as cruise vessels make a significant contribution to the local economy.”
