NEYLAND Ladies' Choir held its AGM on September 3, and the following officers were elected for the coming year: chairlady Noreen Hadfield, secretary Joan Leckie, treasurer Sheila Griffiths.

During his address, choir president, Simon Hancock praised the choir's support to the town over the last year, in particular the twinning visit at Easter by the visitors from Sanguinet.

He also took the opportunity to wish the choir well on their forthcoming tour to France and greatly appreciated the ambassadorial role the ladies will be undertaking on behalf of the town.

At the end of the meeting Noreen Hadfield presented the Waterford crystal bowl to outgoing chairlady, Trish Campodonic, for safe keeping for the coming two years.

Last Monday evening the ladies and guests attended a social evening at Neyland Yacht Club when plans for the forthcoming tour to France were presented and short talks were given by Bill McGarvie of Neyland Judo Club and Richard and Angela Thomas.

Bill was able to give the tour party an insight to the sort of welcome to expect having travelled to Sanguinet with the Judo Club and Richard and Angela Thomas talked about the area and places of interest.

During the evening the Summer Draw took place with the help of the guests and the first prize was won by Karl Davies of Wellington Road, Hakin.

Noreen Hadfield thanked everyone for making it such an enjoyable evening and thanked the tour committee for their ongoing efforts in organising the visit to Sanguinet.
