CHAMPAGNE, holiday vouchers and spa treatments will be among the prizes on offer at a glamorous charity ball raising money for children with diabetes.

The black-tie event, which takes place at the Beggar’s Reach Hotel, Burton, Milford Haven, this Saturday (September 27), is being organised by Marie Morgan, from Llangwm.

Last year, Marie helped raise more than £1,500 to help people suffering from diabetes, stroke or Parkinson’s with a similar event.

Marie, who runs Weight Watchers groups across the county, said she decided to raise money because of the struggle young people with diabetes can face in managing the condition.

“The money we raise will stay in Pembrokeshire and I feel it’s great to support our community,” she said.

A donation from the event will also go to a Parkinson’s charity - a cause close to Marie’s heart.

“Hopefully it will be a massive success and it will become and annual event,” said Marie.

Other prizes up for grabs on the night include tickets to Folly Farm, a Vaughans radio, and a British Lions ball signed by Welsh captain Sam Warburton.

Tickets are £30 this includes a three-course meal, a cup cake from Claire's Cup Cakes, disco and photo booth.

The dress code is smart, either black tie, suits or long or cocktail dress. It starts at 6.30pm.
