AROUND 50 pupils from Milford Haven School braved the cold weather for their annual Big Dip fundraiser, in aid of Children in Need.

Accompanied by hardy teachers Miss Dootson and Mrs White, the group met on Broad Haven beach just before sunset on Friday (November 7), before running into the sea.

"Although it was freezing we all had a brilliant time, it wasn't as cold in the water as it was waiting to get in there," said sixth form pupil Josh Thomas.

"Most of us were wearing pyjamas or onesies, which wasn't planned, everyone just decided to do it last minute."

Josh also thanked the Ocean Café, which provided free soup to help warm everyone up.

The Big Dip is part of a week of fundraising activities and events organised by students, which have included a cake sale, lunchtime sweet-selling sessions, school parties, and a Stars in their Eyes show.

Pupils will also be wearing fancy dress to school on Friday, in the hope of smashing last year's fantastic £8,600 fundraising total.
