ALMOST 100 community groups from across Pembrokeshire have benefitted from the Port of Milford Haven’s Community Fund over the last twelve months.

A wide range of charities, community organisations and individuals applied to the Port for financial assistance with projects and events, all of whom were delighted with the support they received.

Among the recipients of the fund were Milford Haven Junior Town Band, Pembrokeshire Special Needs Gymnastics Club, Llangwm Longboat Rowing Club and Tenby Museum and Art Gallery.

Alec Don, chief executive at the Port of Milford Haven, said: “As a Trust Port we are committed to supporting the local community, whether that be through sponsorship, in kind-support or larger scale investment.

"One of the main hurdles that charities and community groups face is securing funding, so we’re delighted to be able to assist when possible.

"All applications are assessed by a committee of staff members from across the company who give their time to consider the projects and I am proud that these employees take such care over ensuring this fund benefits as many local worthy causes as possible.”
