THE Post Office has announced plans to relocate Johnston Post Office.

It is currently based at 16 St Peters Road and the proposal is to move it a short distance away to Nisa Local.

The new branch would benefit from an open plan design and longer opening hours. They would be 7am to 10pm, seven days a week.

Post Office regional network manager for Wales, Adrian Wales, said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to local residents in Johnston and we are confident that this new modern branch will make it easier for our customers to do business with us and also secure services for the future”.

The Post Office is inviting customers to give their comments on the move in a six week public consultation. The new service is proposed to open in June 2015, subject to a successful consultation.

If you would like to have a say you can fill in an online questionnaire at postofficeviews.co.uk, by entering the code 26961399.

Alternatively, submissions can be made by post at Freepost Your Comments to Post Office Ltd, National Consultation Team, Wealdstone Post Office, 1st Floor, Admin, 4-12 Headstone Drive, Harrow, HA3 5QL, via email to comments@postoffice.co.uk, or via the customer helpline: 08457 22 33 44 or Textphone 08457 22 33 55.

The consultation will close on April 23.
