JOHN Street, in Neyland, will be closed for five days in April – not three, as previously predicted - as road works are carried out.

The £22,000 resurfacing operation will start on Tuesday, April 7, and has been scheduled to coincide with the school holidays.

The road closure will span from the junction with Kensington Road, to the junction with Frederick Street.

An alternative route of Kensington Road, High Street, Lawrenny Street and Sportsway has been suggested by the council while work is carried out.

Mayor of Neyland, Cllr Simon Hancock, said he welcomed any improvements to the town’s roads.
