POLICE are appealing for anyone in the area when a teenager celebrating his 18th birthday died in Pembroke Mill Pond this week to contact them.

The tragic death of Robert Mansfield occurred in the early hours of Monday morning and police understand there were a number of other people in the vicinity at the time.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesman said: “During the early hours of Monday, July 27, emergency services received a report of a man who had fallen into the Mill Pond in Pembroke. The male identified as 18 year old Robert Mansfield from the area died as a result. The death is not been treated as suspicious.

“Enquiries have identified that a number of persons were in the area of the Mill Pond at the relevant time. Officers would like to speak with any persons who were at Mill Pond during the early hours of Monday, July 27, between 2.00am and 2.45am.

“Anyone with information is urged to call Pembroke Dock police station on 101.”
