A CONCERNED father says he doesn’t know where to turn, after a last-ditch attempt to solve a nasty neighbourly dispute has seen him threatened with eviction.

Tony Craig, who lives in Wentworth Close, Milford Haven, contacted the producers of Channel 5’s Nightmare Neighbours Next Door series in a last-ditch attempt to solve the ongoing dispute.

Mr Craig, 51, says he has been plagued by anti-social behaviour from one of his neighbours for two years, and after what he describes as exhaustive attempts to work with his landlord Pembrokeshire Housing, his local MP, and other agencies such as the police, felt he had nowhere else to turn.

But on Monday (January 11), Mr Craig received a letter from Pembrokeshire Housing, refusing permission for filming on the Hubberston estate.

The letter reads: “I am very concerned this will only serve to inflame what is already a difficult situation, and one which we are continuing to work to resolve at a multi-agency level.”

It continues to say filming would be an intrusion into other tenants’ privacy, adding: “The Association would also view this as a form of harassment; this action would be considered breach of your tenancy conditions.”

It closes by saying that being involved in any filming, “or any other action which could cause harassment, alarm or distress and intimidation to your neighbours” would result in Mr Craig being served with notice.

Mr Craig says many of his fellow neighbours, with whom he has a good relationship, have also been sent similar warning letters from Pembrokeshire Housing.

“They’re my landlords and they’re failing their duty of care,” said Mr Craig, adding that he feels “fobbed off” by Pembrokeshire Housing, and the police, and that they have failed to take his complaints seriously, despite him keeping a log of all incidents.

Mr Craig said many of his neighbours have also made complaints, but have been “too afraid” to identify themselves.

But he is determined to keep fighting on behalf of his family, and his home.

“I’m speaking out because I want my children to feel safe,” he said.

“I haven’t slept in my bedroom for the last two years, I sleep in the front room because I don’t feel like it’s safe.

“At one point I hadn’t opened my curtains in six months, and we never go out in the garden anymore” he said.

“It’s a lovely estate, I was born and bred here, and before this was houses this field used to be my old stomping ground.

“We have been promised they will sort it, but nothing has happened.”

A spokesman for Pembrokeshire Housing said: “Pembrokeshire Housing is aware that filming was due to take place at Wentworth Close in Milford Haven for a neighbourhood dispute programme.

“As landlord we have withheld consent to film at Wentworth Close believing that such action could provoke further conflict and be detrimental to the progress being made in addressing the issues raised.

“Pembrokeshire Housing has been working hard on a multi-agency approach with the police and other agencies to tackle what is a very complex matter with allegations and counter allegations by and against a number of tenants.

“This is not a simple matter and there are ongoing legal proceedings against several occupants.

“On behalf of our tenants we are pleased to note that there has been some improvement at Wentworth Close and we will continue to work in partnership with others to resolve the issues raised and build on the progress made to date.”

A spokesman for Flame TV said: “Flame TV has not been filming in Wentworth Close.

“We have no further comment to make.”
