A public consultation is being held until 7pm today (Thursday) to share information and gather views on a new renewable energy facility planned for Milford Haven which promises hundreds of new jobs.

Local residents are being invited to learn more about the plans for a Centre of Renewable Energy Excellence which will be situated on the RNAD former mine depot site at Blackbridge, with an eco park for downstream uses at the former Gulf refinery at Waterston.

The plans include a new renewable energy facility for converting biomass fuel into clean biogas which would be used to either produce green electricity or green liquid fuels.

The event is taking place in Hazelbeach Community Mission Hall in Hazelbeach today, Thursday January 14 from 12pm – 7.30pm.

The company behind the plans, Egnedol Ltd, is hoping that residents will attend the event and share their opinions before the planning application is submitted.

The company says that as well as making Pembrokeshire an 'international standard-bearer for cutting-edge clean energy technology', the new development will initially create 450 jobs and attract inward investment into Pembrokeshire.

Residents who are unable to attend the event are being invited to share their views by emailing info@egnedol.co.uk or writing to Egnedol Wales Ltd, 1 Saint Marys Street, Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, SA31 1TN.
