CADETS from Milford Haven are trying to raise more than £15,000 to build a new classroom and revamp their base.
Milford Haven Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets have launched a year of fundraising events, which will include 'bag packs' and a sponsored swim in October.
The first phase is to raise the £1,500 needed to extend their current boiler room to include a cleaning store room.
Once completed, they will then start drumming up the cash required to build an additional classroom, which will include storage space and casing in their second floor to help reduce heating costs, and hopefully an interactive whiteboard.
The cadets have been based in Milford Haven since 1942, and currently provides a fun environment for around 40 young people, with opportunities to gain new skills and make friends.
They are supported by 20 adult volunteers and a committee of 10 trustees.
"We are constantly wanting to upgrade and modernise our building, facilities and equipment so that we can keep up with the times," said Lt (SCC) William Elliott RNR, who leads the group.
"Please help if you can."
