NEYLAND Town Council will discuss whether to pay £400 to repair damaged playpark equipment when it meets on Monday night (September 5).
A transparent acrylic panel in the park's teen shelter was smashed in August.
The Mayor of Neyland called public attention to the incident on social media.
"This structure cost Neyland Town Council some £5,000, since having the older youngsters somewhere to hang out is important," he said.
"It will be repaired and I think my town council colleagues and myself will have to look at having CCTV installed."
The town clerk said the culprit had since come forward and been issued with a Youth Restorative Disposal Notice by police, which required the youth to write a letter of apology to the council.
She said the council accepted that the damage was the result of an accident.
In 2015, Neyland Town Council agreed that the teen shelter was an essential part of the second phase of plans to transform the playpark.
Neyland Town Council meets at its office on the High Street at 7pm.
