A CHRISTMAS shopping challenge to support local businesses will see one lucky shopper win an Xbox One this Saturday (December 3).

As part of Small Business Saturday - a national campaign to encourage shoppers to buy from local companies - a special one-day challenge has been organised by the town's business circle.

To enter, shoppers will need to visit ten different businesses, make a purchase from each, then collect a stamp on a special shopping card.

Cards can be collected from the Christmas market in Charles Street this Saturday, between 10am and 4pm, and need to be dropped off (once full) at the town hall by 4pm.

The winner will be announced by the Mayor on Saturday night, just before the Christmas Lights are switched on.

“It’s a fun day out first and foremost,” explained Neil Jenkins, destination director at the Port of Milford Haven.

“However there is an important message in the event too,” he continued. “We have some great local businesses here, both in the Marina and throughout the town.

"Sometimes we just need to remind ourselves by taking a walk around and popping into shops to take a look.

"Christmas is the perfect time to take that opportunity.”

Town centre businesses taking part this Saturday are: Scales and Tales, Cast n Craft, PSA Cosmetics, Trendz, Cut Above, All Cut Up, Woofers, Juice 33, Renatus, Milford Pharmacy, Flowers And Favours, Robeston Cross, Jeffrey's the Jewellers, Occasions, Big Brums, Anglers' Choice, Upper Crusts, Jan Marie's, Todaro's, Granby, Littlest Toy Shop, Snapdragon.

And at Milford Marina: My Little Treasures, Two Red Dogs, St Brides Bay Clothing, Past To Present, Lattitude, Spinnaker Cafe, Itsy Bitsy, Silver Fish, In House Crafts, Pebbles, Vandykes.

The event is run with support from Milford Haven Regeneration Team, the Port of Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire County Council and Milford Town Council.
