NEYLAND Ladies Choir shared the stage with Milford Haven Junior Town Band at a concert in St Mary’s Church, Hakin, to raise funds for the church.

In his introduction, rector Rev Andy Bookless said how pleased the church was to welcome two such talented groups.

This year the choir is celebrating its 40th anniversary and the junior band is celebrating its 5th anniversary.

The ladies began the concert with a rousing anthem Cantate Hodie, with their programme also including two new pieces, Saints Go Marching and Flying Free.

The band's offering ranged from traditional band music with Pots and Pans to a medley from the musical Grease, a Take That song, and finished with the amazing African Funk.

Their pieces featured solos by Rhys Evans, Ross Owen, Dylan Sanders-Swales, Rachel Maloney, Teifion Owen and Haydn Gough on Baritone.

The concert ended with Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer to the tune of Cwm Rhondda, performed by the band and sung by the choir and audience.

The choir's next concert will be on Saturday, June 3, at St David’s and St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Haverfordwest at 7pm.

The concert is in aid of the Paul Sartori Foundation and the ladies will share the stage with Singing For Pleasure, Gwent WI Ladies Choir. Admission is £4.
