The large German naval mine discovered on the seabed near Dale was blown up in a controlled detonation yesterday (Tuesday).
Milford Haven Port Authority helped to oversee the operation just off Watwick Point, near Dale.
The mine was detonated by Navy Bomb Disposal experts just after 5pm.
It produced a large, white plume of water estimated at being 30-40 foot high which was clearly visible as far away as Milford Haven.
Shipping into the Haven wasn’t disrupted as the detonation was timed to a period when no vessels were booked to move and all vessel movements continue as normal into and out of Milford Haven.
