Public 'receptive' to marina plans
9:10am Monday 9th July 2012 in Milford Haven
MILFORD Haven Port Authority said residents were ‘receptive’ to the idea of redevelopment of the dock and marina area in the town, at the first public drop-in session hosted on Friday.
However, Mark Andrews, the port’s corporate affairs director, said some had emphasised the need for development plans to fit with existing town shopping and services.
Mr Andrews said: “A critical part of the Milford Dock Master Plan is to support and complement the existing town centre. This is reflected in plans to build a multistorey car park linking the waterside to existing shops on Hamilton Terrace, though we would welcome any other ideas people have on how to harmonise the development with the town.
“This is what we want at this planning stage – as many views as possible on how the dock area and the Haven as a whole can be improved.
“I would encourage anyone who couldn’t make the meeting last week to share their thoughts at our next public event on July 19, from 4pm till 8pm at Suite 5, Cedar Court. This session will include a presentation of draft plans, having listened to the community’s feedback to date.”
