A LANTERN parade will once again light up the streets of Milford Haven on Saturday, December 6.

Organised by Milford Haven Town Council, the parade will see children and families carry their lanterns from the police station, down Charles Street, onto Hamilton Terrace then back towards the town hall for the switch-on of the town’s Christmas lights.

Leading the parade will be Father Christmas on his sleigh – recently refurbished by Milford Haven Round Table – with characters from this year’s Torch Theatre panto Cinderella and Milford Haven Town Band also taking part.

Back at the town hall, Neyland Ladies Choir will be singing carols and Christmas jingles.

After the switch-on, children will get the chance to meet Father Christmas in his grotto, and there will be fairground rides too.

Events are also planned on Market Square throughout the day, and Radio Pembrokeshire’s Jim Hughes will also be talking with competition winners and announcements Father Christmas’ arrival.

The parade is expected to start at 4.30pm outside the police station, with the lights being switched on at 5.30pm.
