Arthritis Research UK Narberth Branch The Narberth Branch of Arthritis Research UK recently held a Pimms, strawberry cream tea at the Rugby Club, Narberth to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the charity.

The event was very successful with everyone enjoying a Pimms to start followed by a sumptuous tea consisting of a large variety of savouries, scones and cream, cakes to suit everyone’s taste followed by strawberries and cream. A delicious celebration cake made by treasurer Mrs Judith Scale, was cut by president Dr Patsy Allen and enjoyed by everyone.

Chairwoman Mrs Ann Morris welcomed everyone and spoke briefly about Narberth branch’s contribution to the fund over the last 25 years raising in excess of £34,000. She then proceeded to introduce Mr Fred Johnston JP Regional Fundraising Manager for South Wales who spoke about the research into new drugs and the treatment available for patients in Wales. Ann and Judith then presented Mr Johnston with a further cheque for £3,000 for the fund. The raffle was then drawn with many prizes being won.

Ann concluded by thanking everyone for attending and making the afternoon such an enjoyable time for members and friends whilst supporting a very worthy cause. Members are now planning further fund raising for Christmas, when a warm welcome will be extended to all.
