Narberth RFC Supporters Club Meat Draw: Winners of the Narberth RFC Supporters’ Club meat draw this week are as follows: Beef – Arwyn Bowen; Lamb – Martyn Phillips; Pork – Geoff Morgan. The Supporters’ Club raises money each week on behalf of the Rugby Club through the meat draw. Supporters interested in having a ticket at £1 per ticket with three chances to win a joint of meat for the weekend, should contact the Club Stewardess Anne Lonsdale on (01834) 860462 or any member of the supporters’ committee. The draw takes place every Friday evening.

Narberth RFC Annual Sponsors’ Evening: Narberth RFC Annual Sponsors’ Evening will be held in the clubhouse on Thursday August 11 at 7.30pm promptly. There will be a free buffet and club officers will present a report on plans for all sections of the Club and expectations for the first fifteen for 2011/2012 season.

Next season’s fixture list will be available for those who attend so there will be an opportunity to reserve match and ball sponsorships for any match that evening.

In addition, anyone attending can confirm next season’s advertising requirements and generally have the opportunity of discussing with club officials any matters of interest or suggestions for improvements or changes.

Terrier racing: A large crowd enjoyed some good racing with 12 races run on a lovely Friday evening.

As the dogs competed in The Narberth and District Community Sports Association (NDCSA) Terrier & Lurcher Race night, in conjunction with Civic Week.

Results were:- Terriers under 10i - Tyson trained by Mrs Cumberlin.

Terriers under 12in - Lucy trained by Chris Ritchins Lurchers Open Div 1 - Buddy trained by Tim Beynon Lurchers Open Div2 - Sam trained by Gavin Smith Novelty 1st - Bea trained by Danielle 2nd; Soski trained by Lauren Commenting on the evening the organiser Eric Bates said “Many owners gave their dogs of all breeds a trial run from the traps. Who knows, we may have seen a future champion running a good trial.

NDCSA would like to thank Narberth Football Club for the use of there field, the trap operator and his team for setting up the course and running the racing, also Bruce McKay for his humorous commentary. To all competitors and their handlers would we like to express a very big thank you.

NDCSA will run this event again next year.”

The next terrier/lurcher racing is at Trevayne Farm New Hedges on Saturday 13th.August at 6.00pm and at Cresselly House on Monday 29th August at 3.00pm at The Cresselly House Country Fayre which starts at 12 Noon.
