PRESELI Pembrokeshire Assembly Member Paul Davies rolled up his sleeves recently to take part in a local beach clean.

He joined forces with Keep Wales Tidy staff and volunteers as part of Keep Wales Tidy week.

The group met at Poppit Sands on Tuesday, September 17 to carry out a thorough beach clean in an effort to raise awareness of preserving the local environment and tackle the issue of marine litter.

Speaking afterwards, Mr Davies said: “I was delighted to take part in the beach clean at Poppit Sands. The Pembrokeshire coastline is very important for Wales as it boosts the local economy and supports the tourism industry, whilst all the while allowing us to showcase how beautiful Pembrokeshire is. Therefore it is absolutely essential that we do all that we can to maintain the local environment for local residents and for visitors to enjoy.

“Keep Wales Tidy do a fantastic job of working with communities across Wales all year round to maintain our beautiful beaches and it is important that we do all that we can to support them.”
