ROCESI’R Fro in the Gwaun Valley is a committee of ladies that meets monthly to enjoy different activities together, but more important are their fundraising activities.
During their October meeting, members welcomed Stephen Roberts from the Ambulance Service and Peter Davies, a First Responder volunteer from the Newport area and presented them with a defibrillator worth £900.
Stephen and Peter gave a talk about their work and explained seven people in Wales suffer a heart attack or stroke every hour, and without the response of the Ambulance service and the First Responders the death rate would be very high.
Peter went on to explain that they are short of volunteers and that if anyone is interested in becoming a First Responder they would welcome them with open arms.
