MORE than 70 people attended an open day at the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority’s offices at Pembroke Dock on Saturday, March 22.
People came from as far away as Yorkshire to see the former officers’ quarters, which overlooks the town on Llanion Hill and is one of Pembroke Dock’s most important military buildings.
Caretaker Brian Pratt conducted six tours of the former officer’s mess building, which dates back to 1904.
Mr Pratt was helped by several other members of the authority’s staff who volunteered on the day.
There were photographs and memorabilia on display, as well as some photographs depicting the buildings former uses as an officer’s mess and the headquarters for South Pembrokeshire District Council, before the authortiy moved into the building in 2004.
There was also a slideshow in the reception showing old photographs of Pembroke Dock.
The event was organised as part of the town’s bicentenary celebrations.
