A CEREMONY was held at Pembroke Dock Community School at the end of term for 60 pupils who received awards from the Children’s University.
Bronze, silver, gold and gold+ awards were presented by Catharine Bleasdale, of the University of Wales, Trinity St David, Carmarthen.
A further 210 pupils, from years one to six, also received certificates for completing modules for the Children’s University.
The Children’s University encourages young people to participate in activities outside the National Curriculum.
The purpose is to develop the whole child and to acknowledge commitment and enthusiasms which they so readily show in a wide range of activities.
Pupils participate in a wide variety of activities, ranging from Irish dancing to craft clubs and Parkour (free running) to football.
Some pupils completed more than 1,500 hours of extra-curricular activities over three years - a tremendous achievement.
