Work will be starting shortly on a new ‘Health Hub’ service for Pembroke Dock Library.
The Health Hub is being provided by Pembrokeshire County Council’s library service and funded through a grant from the Welsh Government.
Library staff are hosting a session on November 4th for local people to come and say what they would like to offered at the Hub.
The session is taking place from 2.30pm to 5pm at Pembroke Dock Library.
National research shows that one of the top things that people visit the library for is information on health and well-being.
Laura Evans, Health and Well-being Librarian said: “We’ll be running an informal event for people to give their views on what sort of information and advice they would like provided, as well as how they’d like to see the sessions managed.
“We’d even like their suggestions for a possible name for the service!
“It is important that we have input from local people into how the service is set up and run, so if you are able to come along on 4th I would strongly urge you to.”
Cllr Elwyn Morse, Cabinet Member for Culture, Sport and Leisure, said, “Pembroke Dock Library is in the heart of a Communities First area, which has a high level of inequalities in health.
“This new service will provide a great opportunity for people in the area to access information and advice on improving health and well-being in an informal and convenient location.”
If you are unable to attend the session on 4th November you will also be able to register your comments and interest at the library from 4th – 28th November.
