A NINE metre yacht, with engine failure, making little headway while entering the West Channel into the Milford Haven Waterway, was towed to safety by RNLI Angle’s all-weather lifeboat recently.
The Tamar class lifeboat Mark Mason was launched at 6.22pm on September 19 and reached the yacht, with two people on board, in eight minutes.
After confirming that all was okay on board, a tow was connected and the yacht was taken to Milford Docks.
On arriving at the docks, the yacht was put into an alongside tow and taken to the Mackerel Stage, where she was secured alongside.
With no more assistance required, the lifeboat was released to return to her station, where she was rehoused at 7.45pm.
